9 tonne Steel Welded Beams & Aluminium Lower Support Stand for Barge Unloading Facility - Brisbane Port Authority

Project: Support beams & aluminium lower support stand for barge shroud - barge unloading facility at the Fisherman's Island Wharf.

Detail: Starlight Engineering Pty Ltd commissioned Equifab to fabricate, and transport to Brisbane, 3 support beams and aluminium lower support stand, for barge shroud, required for a barge unloading facility at the Fisherman's Island Wharf for the Brisbane Port Authority. Each of the finished beams was 13m in length and weighed approximately 9 tonne. Prior to blasting and painting the beams were subject to stringent weld inspections.  Inspectors were impressed by the quality of the fabrication.   Equifab then worked closely with MasterBlasters who were contracted to supply specialty coatings.

Outcome: Despite major delays from suppliers the project was completed and delivered on time, and within specifications. The on-site inspection by the Port Authority inspector indicated that both the fabricated beams and aluminium support stand were of the highest quality of workmanship.
